Inn of Seventh Ray Wedding, Topanga - Helen + Jack

Helen and Jack work in Hollywood. Helen is a costume designer and Jack is a writer/editor/director.

And as many years I’ve photographed weddings, I had never seen a facial (fishing) net to cover the makeup while changing. GENIUS!!!

They met working on a music video in 2009, and you can see that they adore each other; they laugh a lot and they don’t take things too seriously. And what can I say? Their wedding simply represented that, and here are a few photos from their wedding. <3

MANHATTAN BEACH WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION, VERANDAS BEACH HOUSE - JACKIE + EAMON

Jackie is super chill and funny (at least to me because she makes me laugh!) She and I have something in common; she is a journalist! I seriously give lots of credits who are working in the journalism field - which I left a long time ago. It’s a super fun job - especially in the 20s, but things are a lot different now with the internet and social media, etc. (I sound pretty old. Ugh.) Eamon is more of a reserved guy who is a lawyer.

The couple met in college at UT Austin while they both lived in the same dorm building. Friends first, then things evolve from there - my favorite kind!

When I asked Jackie what she loves the most about Eamon, she said “He says he’s 5’11 but he’s actually 5’10.5.”

Her grandmother who is 98 years old was the star of her family, and she was able to stay until late night which was very impressive. Jackie and Eamon’s wedding was held at Verandas Beach House in Manhattan Beach.

Santa Barbara Courthouse Wedding Photography - Heidi + Alex

Heidi is the coolest and only sister of Tessa (whose wedding Brett and I’ve photographed 3 years ago, but I had not blogged her wedding here - Sorry Tessa! I will eventually get to it!), and it was our absolute thrill to join Heidi and Alex for their small intimate wedding/gathering at Santa Barbara Courthouse. The courthouse’s COVID rule was still pretty “strict” so only 8 people could be near the judge and couple. Heidi was six month pregnant then (and I was 6 weeks pregnant; but my pregnancy ended at 12 weeks; it happens and it’s very common…) I’m happy that we were able to celebrate that “6” week/month pregnancy together though :) hehe. Anyway, Heidi’s baby girl is expecting in Sept.!!! Ahhhhh!!! Super excited!

They’re planning to have a bigger party/reception next year and Tessa is the most excited aunt in the world to dress the baby as the flower girl. I can’t wait either!!!
