Skirball Cultural Center Wedding - Jaclyn and James
James: "I like to describe you as my rock. It's not a sexy description, but you're my cornerstone.
Jaclyn: "You're so many things to me, and I'm grateful that I have met you so early in life. All these years, I've always felt like you've got me, and I want you to know that I've got you too."

Jaclyn and James' wedding was so simple; a big joyful party filled with lots of laughters and happy tears. It was about two families (and their friends) with similar yet different cultural backgrounds celebrated the love of Jaclyn and James and nothing else. Jaclyn is a descendant of Japanese Peruvians while Jame's family is from Korea. Growing up in Southern California, it only made sense for them to tie the knot here although they (now live in Chicago) have traveled and lived in many different cities.

Santa Ana Old Courthouse Museum Wedding - Sharon and Eric

Though Eric contacted me first, I have more to say about Sharon. She's so straightforward. I instantly loved her. I easily get confused with mixed messages and/or have no patience for figuring complicated stuff; just like Sharon, she also has no patience.

Seven years ago in college, "we got drunk one night," she said when I asked how they "romantically" met. First time for everything; that was my first experience with a couple who had an amazing drunken "mistake" which led to a long-term relationship, and then to lifetime promise. "We have a lot of debts (especially with Eric's med school loans,) and we just want to be married."

There, nothing fancy. She bought her beige-white maxi dress from Abercrombie & Fitch and kept the receipt just in case it didn't fit her or she wanted to return it. hehe. About 20 their friends and family members gathered to celebrate their honest love in Santa Ana.

Wayfarers Chapel and La Venta Inn Wedding - Candace + Sean

We know, in life, people come and go; it's only normal. But if it's not death-related, you can put efforts to keep certain ones in your life. Though I admit it; I'm not that great when it comes to "hanging out" with people I like as I have a weird anti-social tendency sometimes, I'll try to make time for Candace and Sean to slurp some ramen together. This happy couple makes me so happy every time. They make inappropriate jokes that I love. They give me good advice when I need it and love noodle soups as much as I do - or at least they let me believe so. Candace's mom wanted to "adopt" me after their wedding and take me to Texas (where she lives) on occasions; she sent me healing energy when I got into a car accident. Sean shared his "not-so-secret" turkey recipe for Thanksgiving, and that is the only recipe I'll ever use.

The funny thing is that Candace and Sean were complete strangers who simply wanted an engagement photo session with me at first. It's unbelievable where life takes you to and how much it gives you. I'm so so thankful that I got to preserve their memories of the happiest-day-ever this summer.

Ahhhhh... Can you overdose on happiness? <3
