Tanya & Jacob’s Wedding at Los Willows Wedding Estate in Fallbrook: A Day Full of Love and Happy Tears

As a photographer, I get to witness a lot of love, but some weddings stay with you forever. Tanya and Jacob’s was one of those.

One especially moving part of the day was the presence of Jacob’s mom, who is currently battling stage 4 cancer. Her strength, grace, and love made everything feel even more meaningful.

Tanya and Jacob are two incredibly kind, quiet souls who met at work back in 2017. These two love the simple joys - nights at home watching TV, trying new foods, sipping boba, and playing board games like Catan. Their dog, Joseph, is a huge part of their life! He’s three now, full of personality, and absolutely adored.

And duh, Joseph was the ring bearer! He walked down the aisle like a total pro, tail wagging the whole way, as if he knew exactly how special this day was.

Jacob teared up multiple times throughout the day, and those emotions spoke louder than words ever could. Tanya stood by his side, calm and loving, holding space for every one of those feelings. It was such a beautiful thing to witness.

Jacob proposed in September 2023 after dinner at Seneca in San Diego. He waited until they were outside in a quiet spot; he knew Tanya didn’t like too much attention. It was simple, thoughtful, and so them.

This wasn’t just a wedding; it was a powerful reminder of what truly matters: love, family, and showing up for one another through it all.

I’m so grateful I got to be there to witness it. 💕

And just for fun, here are some photos of them when Joseph turned 3 earlier this year.

Casa Florida Wedding, Miami, Florida - Caitlin + Mike

It’s amazing how I get to photograph former client’s family and friends. They’re seriously the best. Actually, it’s the best feeling, knowing that they already know how I photograph and that we’re on the same page about our values in photography. It’s a cliche to say this, but I feel super blessed, really.

Demi, one of Caitlin’s best friends and the officiant for her wedding told me, “When Caitlin was planning her wedding, she kept saying, ‘I want someone like Annie Bang for my wedding. Where can I find someone (a wedding photographer) like Annie Bang?’ Soooo… I was like… ‘how about…. you just hire her for your wedding…and the problem is solved!?!?’”

Brett and I photographed the groom Michael’s brother (Eric)’s wedding in Santa Barbara years ago, and now here we are in 2024, flying out to Florida for Mike and Caitlin.

Caitlin and Mike met summer of 2014 through an adult kickball league (aka "drunk kickball"). Their league met on Friday nights in Coconut Grove - their fav neighborhood in Miami- and it's basically one big rowdy party. They were on different teams. Mike came up to Caitlin & asked if she wanted “a Solo cup of boozy punch & voila, 8.5 years later, here we are.”

As a couple, “we're playful & affectionate, & we laugh together a lot. Humor is a coping mechanism for us. We can usually see the bright side, the big picture, the silver lining...in other words, if it rains on our wedding day, we're still gonna party with a smile on our faces.”

It didn’t rain (only cloudy here and there) on their wedding day; but it poured down the next day - hence, Brett and I were trapped at the airport for hourssss to come back home. haha.

The wedding was at Casa Florida, a super cute, historic & funky motel with tropical Florida Keys vibes, in Miami, Florida, and we really LOVED partying with everyone.

Los Angeles Wedding, St. Bede the Venerable Church wedding, Odyssey Restaurant wedding - Alessandra and Carlos

Alessandra and Carlos originally met in high school as ushers at the Hollywood Bowl. Carols would claim they met the first year they started working there, but Alessandra doesn’t remember meeting him until she was about to go into her first year of college. hehe. They were friends for two years before things got serious. They’re such a fun and relaxed couple, surrounded by wonderful and loving family and friends, and had been in a long distance relationship before marriage while he attended a law school. (SF-LA)

One of the things that touched me the most was how caring Alessandra was; especially when I witnessed her explaining what kind of wedding dress and jewelry she was wearing on her wedding day to her blind grandmother.

Their wedding was at St. Bede the Venerable Church in La Cañada Flintridge, and the reception was at Odyssey Restaurant & Events in Granada Hills.
