Twin Oaks House Weddings in San Marcos, California | Documentary Wedding Photography

Theresa and Devin’s story started at University of California, Los Angeles, where they co-directed the Game Music Ensemble. They are music lovers, animation nerds, and video game enthusiasts who built something creative together.

Their wedding at Twin Oaks House Weddings in San Marcos, California, reflected their personalities through thoughtful details and meaningful moments. They prepared homemade chili oil favors for every guest and shared their love for boba and popcorn chicken, creating a fun and personal experience that everyone could enjoy.

The entire day was filled with genuine connection, laughter, and energy from their friends and family. As a San Marcos wedding photographer and San Diego documentary wedding photographer, these are the moments that matter most because they tell the real story of the couple.

This is what makes documentary wedding photography in San Diego so powerful. It captures natural interactions and real emotions so every photo feels alive and meaningful over time.

Theresa and Devin, thank you for trusting us to document your wedding at Twin Oaks House Weddings in San Marcos, California. Your day was full of creativity, personality, and love. 💛

Mater Dei Catholic Church Wedding and Big Private Backyard in San Diego | Documentary Wedding Photography

Ana and Jan Eric met at work in San Diego and built a love that feels easy, balanced, and full of laughter. She’s the organized one. He’s the adventurous one. Together, they make life ridiculously fun. 💚

When we first started planning their wedding a couple of years ago, all we really knew was the “when” and the “where.” Their ceremony would take place in a beautiful church, and the reception would transform Ana’s parents’ backyard in Jamul, California, into an unforgettable celebration. At the time, we thought maybe around 200 guests, five hours of photo and video coverage, and we would be set.

Fast forward to their wedding day, and their guest list had exploded to over 420 amazing people, with a waitlist to match 😱. Our team of six captured every single moment over 11 hours. From the heartfelt church ceremony at Mater Dei Catholic Church to Ana's parents’ backyard reception in Jamul, it was a day full of energy, laughter, and intimate moments that made documentary wedding photography and videography shine. It preserves the moments exactly as they happened and shows the true spirit of the couple and their families.

DYI Backyard Intimate Wedding, Topanga Canyon, Los Angeles - Sehwa and Spencer

Sehwa and I have known each other… probably… almost 12 years now. It was almost right after she came here from Korea to start her life and pursue her career, and I was just one of her clients, but we had so many similar things in common that our friendship kept growing. We shared our deepest secrets and beyond, and she has become one of my closest friends in LA. Sehwa and I basically enjoyed each other’s personal and business growth and have been the biggest cheerleaders. When she told me about her groom Spencer, first of all, there was nothing wrong with this guy! You know how it is - as a girlfriend, you sometimes want to look out for your friend, so you try to read any red flags, but there was none! He was just so perfect. Little did I know, after such a smooth relationship ride with Spencer, they’re getting married and I couldn’t be more thrilled to photograph their intimate, backyard wedding in Topanga Canyon, Los Angeles, California.

Sehwa’s immediate family flew from Korea for the wedding, and Spencer’s mom - who suffers from Parkinson’s Disease - almost couldn’t make it to her only son’s wedding; there were so much of happy tears.

Sehwa was also 9-week pregnant, and I cried out of joy when she told me privately on her wedding day. Then, they surprised everyone with a little Thank-You cards of the baby’s ultrasound picture.

It was just about 30 people including me and Brett at the wedding, and it was everything Sehwa and Spencer wanted.
